population had dwindled until they had only three teachers. Marvin.w. Haney was principal and Miss Ruby Lee Halcomb, and Miss Larine True were the assistants.

Trustees in 1937 were F. A. Blanton, Joe
Richardson, and Staley Jones.

The Love school was consolidated with Tulia in 1947. The building was sold and the materials used for buildings in Tulia.

KAFFIR
The Kaffir school was first known as the Jordan School and was located on the Goettsch land. In 1937 it was located on the Bates land. In 1920 it was moved west of the railroad and placed on the H. C. George land. In 1926 it was moved to the Kaffir Switch on the railroad. Then, in 1949

the district was broken up and consolidated with Happy and Tulia.

Ten school districts were established in the county in 1892. This pattern held pretty well until about 1907. Then they began to break up and be established to accommodate the population to a better advantage. The May meeting of the commissioners Court in 1909 established the Kaffir Common school district. The petition to form a new district was headed by A. . G. Robinson and others. Trustees elected in 1910 were Ray Jordan, J. W. Duncan, and C. F. Hoglin. However, the first board members appointed in 1909 were R H. Bradford and Horace Bothurn.

Teachers in 1937 were L. W. Partin and Mrs. Marvin C. Gilbert.
