Commissioner's court for District thirteen, Red Hill, 10 February 1908. According to Mrs. Evans, SWISHER COUNTY HISTORY, p. 104, L. M. Tucker was the first teacher. Other teachers to serve the school were: Mrs. Betty Mulkey, Mrs. Barnett, Hazel Fort, Ruby Keeling, Vivian Walker, Mrs. Bernice May, Eunice May, Miss Shafer, Mrs. Mattie Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin, Mrs. Porter Anderson, Miss E. Foster, Tom Brown, G. Mitchell, Albert Vaughn, Louise Gillam, H. D. Crane, Evelyn Culwell, Mrs. Charles Welker, 1. L. Devin, Mrs. Blackwell, Elna Lott, Miss Cobb, and S. A Vaughn.

McGUIRE
Thirteen May 1909, J. R. Hankins and others petitioned the Commissioners court that a new Common School district be formed which would be number seventeen and named McGuire, for an early resident of the community. Mr. McGuire gave the land on which the school was located.

McGuire was a well equipped rural schools and served the community until the consolidation in 1947. Mr. Painton was the first teacher. Miss Nadeen Wrenn was the teacher in 1937. Trustees at that time were C. G. Spicer, M. M. Carroll, and J. F. Whitsett.

HOUSTON
Fourteen February 1910 the Houston School district was duly approved by the Commissioners's Court. It seems as if a Mr. C. D. Houston bought land from Mr. George C. Keck. Mr. Houston came to the community in 1890 and gave an acre of land for the school building. Miss Delia Montgomery was the teacher in 1937. The district was consolidated with Tulia, in 1947.
